Acme is a workspace with an assistant inside it. You bring the job and whatever material you already have; Acme helps you plan it, draft it and check it. This section explains how the pieces fit together, so the rest of the documentation makes sense.
How Acme is organised
Everything in Acme lives in one of three places:
- Workspace — your account, your plan and the people you work with. Most people have one.
- Project — one piece of ongoing work: a product, a client, a side business. A project has its own profile, files and workflows.
- Conversation — a single exchange with the assistant inside a project. Conversations can be renamed, pinned and shared with the team.
The project is the unit that matters most. What you tell Acme about a project — its voice, its audience, its facts — is remembered for every conversation and every workflow in it.
What to set up first
Three things, in this order, take about ten minutes and make every answer after them better.
1. Create a project
Give it a name you will recognise in a list. You can change it later; the address of the project does not depend on it.
2. Fill in the profile
Paste a link to your website or write three or four lines: what you do, who for, and how you want to sound. Acme turns it into a short profile and shows it to you. Correct anything that is wrong — the correction is remembered.
3. Ask for something real
Not “test” or “hello”, but a job you actually need done this week. The first real answer tells you more about how Acme fits your work than any amount of reading.
Where to go next
The two guides in this section take you from an empty workspace to a shared project:
- Your First Project — a worked example, from brief to a finished draft
- Team and Permissions — inviting people, roles and what each of them can change
Components is a live reference of everything a docs page can hold — text, code, callouts, steps, tabs, cards and inserts.
If you want to see the product before setting anything up, the assistant works without an account, and Workflows explains how repeated work is automated.
